Healing Deep Wounds: Trauma & Neurodiversity Therapy for Adults Who’ve Felt Unseen
Dr. Dani Murphy, PhD, LPC, NCC, is a trauma therapist, clinical supervisor, educator, and published researcher specializing in the nuanced intersection of trauma, neurodiversity, and attachment healing. As Founder of Refuel Life Trauma Center, Dr. Dani brings an integrative, mind-body approach to healing, grounded in advanced certifications in neurofeedback, biofeedback, EMDR, brainspotting, somatic experiencing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) inner child work.
An innovative force in the field, Dr. Dani combines cutting-edge brain-based therapies with deep relational practices. She is particularly known for her expertise in treating complex and developmental trauma (CPTSD), ADHD, unresolved attachment and abandonment wounds, and childhood emotional neglect—especially for clients navigating both trauma and neurodevelopmental differences, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Dr. Dani’s work extends beyond the therapy room—she teaches, trains, and supervises the next generation of counselors and mental health professionals at the collegiate level, mentoring interns, practicum students, and residents as they become trauma-informed practitioners. As a leading research scholar in attachment trauma, her published work introduces original, modern models of attachment designed to help individuals understand—and heal—old wounds using contemporary neuroscience and evidence-based insights.
Her compassionate, individualized care blends EMDR, neurofeedback, and somatic interventions with IFS, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and solution-focused approaches. She partners with children, adults, couples, and families to build trauma resilience, restore hope, and rewrite personal narratives with authenticity and agency.
Dr. Dani holds a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from Capella University and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University. She is LGBTQIA++ affirming and dedicated to inclusive, collaborative care for all identities and backgrounds.
At the heart of her work is a simple belief: meaningful healing happens when science, story, and self-compassion converge.
